Local Government Analysis and Research is the research and analytic function that supports the Local Government Association and partner bodies.

Access the April 2008 - June 2008 local authority level WRS data from the Home Office. This up-to-date information will not only enable you to discover more about your changing local population, but is invaluable in planning your services.  You will be able to investigate new migrant employment patterns including seasonal working, which is essential in building up local economic and employment knowledge.

The September edition of LGAARB is now available. This regular one stop publication keeps you informed about key issues and developments in research impacting on, or of interest to, local government.

British Library web preservation programme
The British Library would like to invite all local authorities to participate in this free website preservation programme . 

Reducing re-offending survey 2007
The survey tracks how the role of authorities in reducing re-offending has developed since the previous survey, conducted in 2005. The report includes a number of case studies describing particularly interesting and effective schemes in which local authorities are involved.

Estimating the scale and impacts of migration at local levels
Commissioned by LGAR on behalf of the LGA,  and produced by the Institute for Community Cohesion (ICoCo),  this report looks at the scale of recent population changes and the impact on local services. The report highlights fifteen main areas where services have come under pressure  including housing, translation and interpretation services, health and children's services.
